But no, not a Frenchman, but Max Berlin aka Jean-Pierre Cerrone from 1978! "Dream Disco" probably does not mean anything to many people. Nevertheless, there was this genre a short time. The song was produced by the brother of Jean-Marc Cerrone, who in turn worked a lot with Giorgio Moroder (I feel Love). Rare single by the way and very sexy!

Dillon

Dillon, the 26 year old exceptional artist with Brazilian roots, understands very well how to reduce minimalist arrangements so that her voice comes into its own. This is about not easy, but proves that your voice gets full attention in this solitude, because an insecure voice could never ever do that. This is also what makes Dillon: solid voice meets reduced arrangement, which may well be at the feet of Detroit techno, but not only. Also the piano is again and again important mainstay. Darkness meets bright shreds of light to disappear again in the infinity of dark matter - just beautiful!

Dillon, die 26 jährige Ausnahmekünstlerin mit brasilianischen Wurzeln, versteht es sehr gut, minimalistische Arrangements so zu reduzieren, das Ihre Stimme zur vollen Geltung kommt. Das ist etwa nicht einfach, sondern beweist, das Ihre Stimme in dieser Einsamkeit vollste Aufmerksamkeit bekommt, denn eine unsichere Stimme könnte das nie und nimmer. Das ist es auch, was Dillon ausmacht: solide Stimme trifft auf reduzierte Arrangement, welche durchaus dem Detroit-Techno zu Füssen liegen darf, aber nicht nur. Auch das Piano ist immer wieder wichtiges Standbein. Dunkelheit trifft auf helle Lichtfetzen, um wieder in der Unendlichkeit der dunklen Materie zu entschwinden - einfach nur schön!

None of them

None of them will keine von Ihren eigenen Wiederholung sein, also erfinden sie sich immer wieder neu und experimentieren mit dem Sound und den Arrangements. Das gelingt ganz gut und so dominiert auf dem aktuellen Album "one of them" neben Electronica, Gitarren, Stimmen und Drums auch immer wieder ein gekonntes Bassspiel! Überhaupt kommt das ganz ziemlich "unzürcherisch" daher und könnte durchaus einer britischen urbanen Umgebung entsprungen sein - ist es aber nicht!

It is clear that in this business a strong voice, dancing talents, appropriate songwriting and visual charms equals a loaded bazooka! A Lady Gaga would then finally had served, because Kiesza is authentic and tranpportiert besides surface also content!

Ist da ein neuer Stern am Himmel? Mal schauen ob er sich am Firmament etabliert! Die Chancen scheinen aber gut zu stehen für Kiesza, denn die 25-jährige Kanadierin weiss zu gefallen und zwar nicht nur optisch, sondern auch gesanglich! Auch wenn sie in diesem Video "nur" ein Cover von Heddaways "What is Love" singt, macht sie doch darauf aufmerksam, das sie eben nicht nur eine poppige Retro-House-Nummer plärren kann, wie im one-shot-modus gedrehten Video "Hideaway" eindrücklich bewiesen, sondern sich auch im souligen wohlfühlt, also im Gefielde wo Rihanna und die ganz grossen sind. Klar ist, das in diesem Geschäft eine starke Stimme, tänzerische Talente, angemessenes Songwriting und optische Reize einer geladener Bazooka gleichkommt! Eine Lady Gaga hätte dann endgültig ausgedient, denn Kiesza ist authentisch und tranpportiert neben Oberfläche auch Inhalt!
